North Korea has announced Mt. Geumgang Sightseeing District Law on 25 Nov. 2002 and released Mt. Geumgang Sightseeing District Regulations and Cooperation Management Regulation on 29 June 2003. Also, it fixed a boundary of Mt. Geumgang Sightseeing District with agreement of a Standing Committee of People's Conference on 8 Oct. 2003.

Therefore, Goseong of Gangwon-do, Haegeum River, Samilpo, and Tongcheon are included in Mt. Geumgang Sightseeing District. The place is allowed to visit, invest, trade, and tour by simple procedure. Also,

the right for tourists and investors is guaranteed in the district in a systematic way.

Hyundai Asan was assigned as a development enterpriser of Mt. Geumgang sightseeing district and ensured the right of a land use for 50 years. Hyundai Asan is planning to establish overall development plan of Mt. Geumgang sightseeing district with the cooperation of WTO, which includes development strategy in meddle and long period and the particulars. Hyundai Asan attracts investment of an enterprise and promotes development project, such as building of a hotel, a golf links, and a ski resort.
