| Culture and art exchange
between South and North Korea, such
as the South-North united concert and
Joint exhibition, has been proceeded
in an active way since 1988, birth of
government of people. Exchange events
happened in 1999 were performance of
Little Angels Group in Pyeongyang and
participation in Pyeongyang Yun, Ih-Sang
Concert. Alarge-scale of events was
performed in South Korea in 2000 owing
to the South-North Summit Conference;
Pyeongyang Students Group, Pyeongyang
Gyoye Group, Joint symphony orchestra
concert. Year 2001 was an important
year for exchanges of art area. The

institute of Donghae University
opened joint photo exhibition, From Baedu to Hala,
with Central Committee of Choseon Journalist Union.
Popular singers¡¯ concerts of South Korea were broadcasted
live to North Korea in 2002 thanks to broadcasters.
As a result, a sound foundation for cultural exchange
was arranged. Especially, ¡®Gogurye Remains Exhibition¡¯
contributed to formation of reconciliatory circumstance
between South and North Korea and notification of
a rightful reason for unification based on a history
and race. |
