The 50 years after the agreement of armistice was settled could be referred to as the period of ˇ°Cold Peace.ˇ± From the beginning of the 1970s there was a period of effort for the peace, reconciliation and cooperation of the Korean Peninsula but the effects were strictly limited. Those were the period confronting each other and provoking rather than conversing and cooperating. Many incidents occurred, from the KNA kidnapping event on 1958 to the Western Sea battle at 2002.

The 2nd tunnel that the North Korean army has dug for the surprise invasion.
