Panmunjeom |

Panmunjeom is the only place
where the South and North meet without any
barrier or barbed wire in all parts of the
armistice line.
It is located 62 km northwest of Seoul and
215 km south of Pyeongyang.Its official name
is Joint Security Area.
It is a special district where the U.N. Forces
and North Korea troops jointly defend. And
it is a 800 square meter area centering around
the military demarcation line.Panmunjeom located
in Jinseo-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do in terms
of jurisdiction has been changed over several
times. At present, the Freedom House is in
the South and Panmungak is in the North between
the Military Demarcation Line. |
